The Little Black Book

I was delighted to run across this Weblog dedicated to one of the coolest little objects in the world - the Moleskine notebook. Armand B. Frasco, an artist in my home state of Illinois, began his "blog dedicated to the proposition that not all notebooks are created equal" in December of 2004.

I carry a ruled pocket-size wherever I go, and my son Thomas (who writes lyrics) found a pack in his Christmas stocking this year.

These legendary little beauties were carried by Hemingway, Picasso, Oscar Wilde and a host of other literary and artistic luminaries, not to mention scores of composers, naturalists, explorers, students, detectives, beat reporters, war correspondents and the like.

Here's a picture of Vincent van Gogh's Molskine.
